What IS a bistro?

Bistro is a term being used everywhere these days, and often not in the correct way.  The definition of a bistro that we found is; a small "mom & pop" run restaurant that is simply decorated on a low budget.  The menu is short, with locally sourced ingredients, seasonal and affordable.   

What are your hours?

We are open Tuesday through Saturday for Lunch and Dinner.  Tuesday - Friday, we close between lunch and dinner shifts, but on Saturday's we are now open straight through for those of you wanting an early dinner or late lunch.

How would you describe your menu?

Our menu has a European influence using local, fresh and seasonal ingredients.  Some things seem French, some Italian and some are Southern.  The menu reflects what we might make for you to have if you came to our home, and that's what we wanted to eat that night.

Is there a dress code?

We see folks in all styles of dress.  Some come in from the lake and some are more "dressed up" for an evening out.  We want everyone to be comfortable. 

What credit cards do you accept?

We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express

What is your price range?

Our average lunch tickets run $11 - $15.  Dinner averages $24 - $32.

Take Out?

We have boxes for unfinished items.  Take out is available for some items, but not everything travels well and if the dining room is very busy, sorry- those folks take precedence.

What's up with all your silly salt and pepper shakers?

Oh, for that one, you have to come in and ask...

Do you have a kids menu?

We have a small menu called Training Wheels for younger diners (10 an under). This menu offers a small steak, chicken tenders or pasta.  Well behaved children are always welcome, but some parents are a little concerned about us having glasses and silverware set on the table, so you will have to decide for yourself what your kids are ready for.  We do not have any coloring books, crayons or lids.

Why no straws?

With the amount of waste generated by restaurants, we feel that every little bit helps.  We also don't offer paper napkins, paper place mats and we don't litter parking lots with menus stuffed under wiper blades.  Go green wherever you can! 

Is your dining room smoke free?

Yes.  There is no smoking allowed anywhere in our bistro. 

Do you have a bar?

Unfortunately we do not.  We have a pretty extensive wine list and maybe some day we can add a bar area,  Right now we just don't have the room

Do you have a Corkage Fee?

Yes, we do, new to Dawson county and starting in 2010 we can now charge a corkage fee.  The fee is $15 per bottle.
